AMG has always been a little outlaw...and now as an official brand under Daimler...
AMG used to be all about the engine and horsepower; Teutonic interpretations of the American musclecar tradition.
Over the past decade the chassis development has slowly caught up with the bonkers powertrains bearing the AMG badge; the E63 AMG NA (up to 2011 MY) was one of my favorite "executive personal sports sedans" on all performance fronts - power, ride, handling.
The SLS - the first complete AMG designed vehicle; and now the GT-s, blows away any last vestiges of a doubt - AMG is not just horsepower and torque anymore, they are a complete performance car maker to rival any in the world.
But just to show they haven't been tamed by going corporate, just to prove they retain their outlaw, renegade hooning roots, they offer this -
