Got myself an early birthday present!

Jan 19, 2015,15:02 PM

It's my 40th coming up and the lease on my other car is ending too, so I decided to get myself an early birthday present!  I wasn't planning on buying a car right now but the price was too good to pass up.  I'm supposed to be hitting a mid-life crisis right?  smile  Here's my darth vader Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale!

So far it feels like it drives slower than my m3 because it's larger and heavier.  The stock stereo system is subpar for ears, so I'll be replacing the speakers some day.  The exhaust is pretty loud and I love it!  Without it, I don't think I would have gotten the car.

The prior owner had the trident emblems painted red which I feel matches well with the look of the car and the red brake calipers.  They make the car look even more aggressive IMO.

The kids like it cause there's a lot more room in the back, and it even comfortably fits 2 adults with plenty of leg space (unless you're over 6"+).

Below are some quick photos I took.  I think the car needs to be lowered an inch, so maybe I'll get that done when the warranty period is over.

Cheers,
Anthony

Last year when I was looking to trade in my 650Ci, I was looking at this too. You don't need new stereos, just listen to the engine and exhaust is music to the ears. Hmmm....now you might need the new Bvlgari Maserati limited edition watch to pair it up.....

WOW Anthony... HUGE congrats!

I have a few matching APs in mind you should have on your radar! PS, welcome to club 40.

Perfect midlife-crisis car :-)

Not exactly 'under the radar' my friend:-) Huge congrats on this one, a lot of people stick with buying a 911 or so, but this is truly an outstanding choice. Enjoy it and be safe please ? Bim

I had a 911 C4 cabriolet around 15 years ago so didn't want to get another one

I've always wanted a 911 Turbo so maybe on my 50th? Cheers, Anthony

IMO

your Maserati is waaay cooler than a 911 Turbo .. except for the 930 Turbo off course :-)

Congrats on the new ride!

Great solution to a midlife crisis. Looks like a fun ride. Oh how I would love to be having a mid life crisis in the 40's again. Best, JerryW

Thanks everyone!

So far I'm really enjoying the car. Don't like the attention it gets but I guess I have to get used to it and not let it get to my head. Cheers, Anthony

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations, the Italian style in cars is really something above. The engine's noise is fantastic too and takes a great place in the pleasure of cruising with it. I think we have the same age, I'm looking forward to make something special but not a ca...

Happy 40th !

On your upcoming 40th and a very very mean and cool looking car, enjoy and have fun with it and be safe. S

I listened to your advice TM

I remembered you saying to me once that the Stradale is the only version you like driving, so I opted for this instead of a S model. Cheers, Anthony

Are those taillights legal?

 By: patrick_y : January 26th, 2015-15:22
Wow. Awesome. I want to take a ride in that! I like the concept of the all black look. But just wondering if those tail lights impede the drivers behind you from seeing when you hit the brakes. I remember when I was a college student there was a car on ca...

The tailights are pretty bright even through they are painted black

So safety won't be an issue when I hit the brakes. I believe they are LEDs. Cheers, Anthony

Good!

It really makes me think of Batman for some reason. Congrats on the car! Really looking forward to seeing it in person.

Where's Robin?

A well deserved name. People should have a habit to name their cars. If boats have names, why shouldn't cars? Can't wait to see it!

Incredulous...

I look forward to seeing that as well. Yellow green? Bi-color car or a cilantro/lime/peridot color? I remember the peridot colored Cayman R from Porsche, that was a very nice color.

VERY cool color combo!

Congrats Anthony! ENJOY!

Nice ride

Nothing beats a shiny black vehicle. The problem is it's so hard to keep it clean for long. My Cayman GTS came out of the dealer with tons of fine scratches and swirl marks. I have to spend nearly $5k to do paint correction, modesta coating and paint prot...

Worse case is to get the car wrapped for couple thousand

Saves a lot of money and you can change colors whenever you want. Cheers, Anthony

Indeed, awesome b day gift A !
