My Garage Queen....maybe it's not meant to be.

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 25th, 2015-16:59
I have always own 2 cars at the same time, 1 SUV and 1 other switching between coupe or sedan In late 2013, I was fortunate enough to get the car of my dreams, a car that combines coupe and sedan beautifully, a car which had Ford Fusion copying the front ...

Awesome car for sure

 By: Bill : January 25th, 2015-19:31
You always have to do a double take to actually realize is is a four door sedan. As for the cost vs the pleasure well only you can be the real judge. The car is meant to be driven. Don't worry it wont depreciate any faster driving it. On the contrary driv...

Bill, the JLC transponder will really make you look like 007...

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 25th, 2015-19:47
I'm glad the new JLC transponder model is made for every Aston, not just for DBS initially, but will be stuck with this car if I buy this watch... The nearest dealership is 200 miles away, so that makes the servicing or repair really difficult, unlike Cal...

You got me ...

 By: Bill : January 25th, 2015-21:55
The watch matches the DB9. You are in another realm with magical crystal keys. Us earthing can't match you. I was hoping Nico would chime in and get yo on the right track. Right track to be corrupted and have to hunt out the JLC to match your car. And you...

I'm a down to earth kinda guy, you're too humble, Bill...

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 25th, 2015-22:21
in fact, one of my legs is already buried in earth, haha...Yes, I'm always watching my back when I'm on this forum....:)) I love the JLC AMVOXs...hmm...maybe with the watch, my wife will have no choice but to agree not take more losses. Thanks for the ide...

Us Aston guys are always low key

That is a touching moment for you, hope I don't trickle tears. Rgds Raymond

What do you think about the Panamera?

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 25th, 2015-22:35
I can forget about the 918 :(( to match with my other SUV. Rgds Raymond ...

Cool car Raymond!

 By: DRMW : January 26th, 2015-23:28
IMO the Panamera is great but the visibility of the rear window is small due to the sloping angle of the rear. It drives really nice especially for such a big car. One thing about servicing is that for the filter change it's in the front bumper, you need ...

Thanks for the info MW, I test driven the Panamera...

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 27th, 2015-08:54
before and I do like it as well...with all the nice safety features from Porsche like LCA, reverse camera and LDW, I may not need to look back much :)) I'm surprised, respect that you are capable and skillful to do oil change for the Panamera, will look f...

Easy Peasy...

 By: DRMW : January 27th, 2015-12:59
Oil changes , serpentine belts, Brake bleeds, and brake pad replacement, are easy. Doing these type of maintenance is really no different on any car. Rhino ramps and jack stands are your friends! LOL! tip: Get a giant oil pan, these P-cars use a lot of Mo...

The new Cayennes drives great, and much refined...

than previous model. I had the Cayenne Turbo with 21" rims and was rougher, higher road noise. Therefore, I traded in for the new S model and I like the new interior as well as the drive train before they changed into a V6 for 2015. Rgds Raymond ...

Just sold my AM

 By: sten : January 25th, 2015-23:10
only put 600 miles on the car last year. Had it for 3 years, only drove 2200 miles total. Just felt like I need a car that I can feel comfortable everywhere. Bought a Cayman GTS. The best handling car I've ever driven.

I share your sentiments...the AM does attracts a lot of attention...

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 26th, 2015-06:56
and you just cannot park anywhere without worrying. Thanks for sharing your story, Sten. Rgds Raymond

We recently got a Cayenne GTS too and it drives awesome

 By: AnthonyTsai : January 27th, 2015-11:48
Everytime I drive it, I'm always amazed at how smooth and fast it drives. It really drives like a sedan instead of a SUV imo! - AT

Nice Kestrel interior.

I haven't spent a lot of time listening to the audio system in that car... But if it's amazing, I want to hear it. I don't spend a lot of time listening to music. The only time I do is in the car (when I'm not listening to the news on the radio). A fantas...

What year was your 650Ci?

 By: patrick_y : January 26th, 2015-16:06
Was it coupe/convertible? How did you like your 650i? The 650i is a very unique looking car.

It was a 2010 coupe and I like it a lot...

All goodies. Great collection of BMWs. And all in nice colors. I'd really like to have a 2010 650i coupe someday too. Great looking car. Terrible backseat, but a good looking two seater. Yours looks fantastic in white. You know where you went wrong? On al...

Wow, your Rapide is stunning in black. And the V12 engine must sound heavenly :) Great AM. Who cares about depreciation? Enjoy it and take it for a ride and just have fun. Regards, ED-209

Yes, Ed...keeping it is my intention, will see how it goes....

It's always great to read other PuristS' cars and their ownership experiences. I took a look at the Astons too when I was looking at my Maserati, and they sure are sexy. The shop had several Rapide's there too. I hope to one day get an Aston as I find the...

Thanks Anthony...if I am right, you got yours from EuroCars?

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 27th, 2015-13:02
They do have few Rapides that are priced very competitively....I got mine from Los Gatos. I will think about this dealer next time, in fact, one of their beefed-up Onyx Panamera Turbo looks stunning. Price is one thing, but warranty cost, repair, maintena...

Yup correct

 By: AnthonyTsai : January 27th, 2015-14:17
It was my first time there when I bought the car, so that place is really dangerous for your wallet! Cheers, Anthony

.....it has been on my mind for the last 2 years....I shouldn't have opened it! I think cars can be very similar to watches....it takes a few tries before you really realise what you love. But once you realise what you love, it is on your mind non-stop.

Indeed, this car has got so many praises. The excuse I kept...

The problem and the answer...

 By: pplater : February 5th, 2015-01:44
The problem is that the AM is your 'garage queen'. As with watches, so with cars: the answer is to drive it. Drive it anywhere. Drive it everywhere. Drive it all the time. Drive it 'just because'. And most of all, drive it through tunnels ( without the B&...

Sadly, as I would love to play with the same 4 wheels toy than yours! ;) Otherwise, I cannot agree more. Best, Nicolas

The fun part is parking lot strategy!

 By: Robert65 : February 25th, 2015-12:32
My garage queen was less exotic, a vintage MB SL, but I hand-washed and babied her endlessly. On the occasions when I took her out for a spin and then realized that I needed to drop into a store (inevitably a Wal-Mart) to get something quick - I'd look at...

I cannot imagine what it's like for you or me to behave if some one opens the door and give our car a ding. I'll probably go beserk! There was once a car parked next to my 650Ci and a kid just push their door out wide and touch my car, and man...I can fee...

You can ask their insurance to pay for the damage...

 By: patrick_y : March 2nd, 2015-18:39
I've done that. And my vehicle wasn't even an especially expensive vehicle A passenger out of a car opened the door too quickly and lightly dented my driver's door. The passenger was a friend of the driver. Driver was the owner of the car. I got the drive...

In any car. Even my rentals. I'm really upset about shopping cart dings and door dings. So I assess the situation thoroughly. I also won't go to certain shopping plazas at times the kids are out.

Thanks pplater for the advice. I'm still trying to find the answer...
