Google Maps and Waze

Sep 20, 2014,13:02 PM

For local non-highway driving, I usually use Google Maps.  It says the name of the streets.  Waze doesn't state the name of the streets, just "turn right in 0.1 miles."

But for highway driving, I use Waze.  It alerts me to debris on the road if another person reports it in and generally most people up here in Northern California use Waze, so the system is made better by the number of users.

In high traffic times I usually also use Waze.

I just wished Waze would state the name of the street.  Google Maps telling me what lane to be in is also beneficial, but that's not an urgent priority for Waze compared to stating the name of the street.

First of all, I totally agree about using the phone's navigation apps rather than using the car's navigation. Nice install. Clean, removable, effective, and non-invasive.

Which phone apps do you use?
