Grand Prix of Houston

Jun 28, 2014,22:47 PM

It was a rainy day today in Houston, not the best conditions for the Grand Prix.  Today they set the race for a fixed one hour and fifty minutes due to the poor weather conditions.  About a third of the race was under a yellow flag.

Being a AP fan I wanted to follow Juan Pablo Montoya.

Carlos Huertas won the race under a yellow flag, would have ben nice if they had a green flag for the last lap or two.

JPM started out in the middle of the pack.

The National Guard car ate the wall and the wall won.

JPM move into 4th place with about 15 minutes remaining.

JPM finished in second place.

From the Houston Chronicle:

Huertas said he grew up idolizing Montoya, who also has won on the NASCAR and Formula One circuits.

"He's the best Colombian driver," Huertas said. "He's been one of the best in the world, won championship races everywhere he has been. I have huge respect for him."

Montoya, 38, was asked about losing to a younger driver and fellow countrymen.

"They should have respected me and let me win," Montoya joked.

Even with all of the rain it was a fun day at the race.

Best,
JerryW

Thanks Jerry for the photo report of the Grand Prix of Houston. Sorry to hear that it was rainy for most of the race. Do they have any automotive brand corrals at GP Houston like they do at with Corvette at the GPLB? Regards, ED-209

Very funny!

JPM's quote is very funny! I got a laugh out of that one! It's unfortunate that the weather was less than cooperative. Thanks for sharing us the photos Jerry!
