BaselWorld 2016: Girard-Perregaux Collection!

Mar 17, 2016,05:50 AM

Friends,

This year is the 225 th anniversary of Girard-Perregaux!

To celebrate this Girard-Perregaux will release several anniversary watches of which some will be in a limited series of 225 pieces.

One of these watches is the Laureato 2016!

225 pieces with Silver dial and 225 pieces with Blue dial.

La Esmeralda – Girard-Perregaux pays a special tribute to the original La Esmeralda Three Golden Bridges Tourbillon that won the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889.

The Chamber of Wonders – The Earth is not enough!

GP follows up their last year’s wonders with a new trio of miniature work of art.

This time the Manufacture leaves earth and takes us into space.

Cat’s Eye Majestic – The iconic ladies watch gets a new “direction” and size.

Having the Cat’s Eye shape on the high end gives the watch a brand new look and feel.

Girard-Perregaux 1966 Skeleton – An open heart creation in Pink Gold and black.

These watches are some of the highlights of this year’s collection but far from all!

Soon I will start to post all the official press releases and after that I will return to each watch with more Live Shots and my thoughts and impressions on each watch.

Much more to come!

Looking forward to read your input on the novelties!

Best

Blomman

This is just the first batch! Best Blomman

I'm a sucker for 70's Genta-esque designs

And the Laureato is gorgeous. But a limited edition? Why? This is too good a general-purpose watch to constrain its availability so much. --Rick

The Laureato is awesome!

Gone from the catalog for some years now. Let's hope this will be a starting point for a new Laureato era! Best Blomman

Indeed! :) [nt]

Keep Mrs E. away from that Cat's Eye Majestic!

Please! ;-) It's rather nice... The Esmeralda will keep me up at night, too. Sigh. Best E.

I fear La Esmeralda will cause a lot of sleepless nights to come! :)

Not a big fan of skeleton in general.... But this one made me stop and look both twice and three times! Best Blomman

More to come, my friend....

But if we talk true novelties, then I guess 90% of all watches, all brands this year will not qualify. Best Blomman

It is not over yet....! [nt]

Are there more novelties to come? Was hoping for a new constant force piece.

I want to be satisfied but with what has been shown i expect more ...
