2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: Mercedes Benz Maybach and AMG

Mercedes-Benz dazzled the world with the reintroduction of the Maybach name...

In the future, Mercedes-Benz will formally separate two sub-brands; Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach.

Basically an 8 inch (200 mm) longer S Class, the Maybach is currently the most luxurious Mercedes vehicle you can buy.  But it's still a far cry from the original Maybach which was a totally different car.  Think of the old Maybach as a Rolls Royce Phantom and this new Maybach as a Rolls Royce GHOST.  I'm really looking forward to being driven in one of these!

The Latest W205 C63 AMG is the only updated car in its segment to offer a V8.  And it's supposedly one of the most high performance fuel efficient V8s.  I'm really looking forward to test driving this puppy.

I like your time machine. And honestly, I like the old Maybach. That car feels much more special and looks much more special than the new one! But the new one is much more likely to become a commercial success. Due to pricing and positioning. But it's sad...
