I never thought I'd be buying one of these

But the Wandering Purist informed me, the orange paint seduced me, and my wife convinced me. I should have bought Tim J's BMW roadster, but I already have two red roadsters and my wife needed a present that is NOT another JLC Reverso. Last spring, Fiat Ch...

Congrats! The offers are just too ridiculous to pass up...

Hi, Mike, Hopefully you will find the Cinquecento e a nice contrast to your other soulful cars. I find that when I am behind the wheel, I tend to drive it completely differently than any other car I've ever driven, and even mentally I find myself in a com...

Thoughts on a small quiet car

 By: cazalea : April 17th, 2015-06:56
Hi Thomas, Thanks for the feedback. In addition to Lotuses and Jags and Volvos, we have been driving a 2006 Honda Insight hybrid (plus Citroen 2CVs for many years). The Fiat is about the same size as the Honda but much heavier and much quieter, and it has...

Great choice although ...

.. personally i would prefer the Abarth esseesse .. which off course is something different :-) AND most of all the EXTRA bonus of making Marchionni loose another 14K is great (hope he has to pay it out of his own pocket). I've actually never heard of thi...

Power is sufficient (0-100 km 8.4 sec) range is adequate (150 km)

Those numbers are roughly what the road test magazines have found. The specs in American numbers are 122 city 108 hwy MPGe 0-60 8.4 seconds 147 hp 88 mph (if you get to 89 the car goes back to the future, so it's governed at 88) "We all understand the ser...

Abarth Esseesse

 By: ThomasM : April 17th, 2015-09:40
Hi, Bimb, The US doesn\'t get many models of the Abarth, only the base platform and various options. Interestingly, the 500e handles as well or better under most conditions due to its lower center of gravity, and it just might be faster off the line too. ...

Ach so :-)

Over here there are a lot of iterations ... though the only 500 i ever drove was a 1.2 69hp automatic ... in Israel :-) ... not particularly a car-minded country ... but the road to the Golan was pretty cool ... coming out of the hairpins i could have use...

Looking forward to seeing it in person. You can get here on one charge right ;) Cheers, Tim

It's a Magic Bus, and makes it to my watch dealer and back, no problem!

 By: cazalea : April 26th, 2015-16:07
It doesn't even feel like driving a car - it's like "the magic bus" Controls are flush and unforgiving - you have to push deliberately (no random swipe at a knob or lever) Shifter is really annoying - no smacking the lever from Reverse into Drive and floo...

An electric car . . .
